Case in point: The chevron hardwood floors we spotted on a house tour in our neighborhood last fall.
Yes, the homeowners were there, just a few feet away, ready to give us the scoop on their gorgeous digs. They were also primed to send offenders of the tour's "no photos" rule packing -- a rule we simply couldn't help but break. (I mean, really. Could you??)
We've seen our share of painted floors and patterned rugs and even old school parquet used to create this effect, but slats of two-toned wood was a first -- and a thoroughly genius way to maintain the home's time-honored stylings in a fresh and modern way.
The chevron design covered one whole level of this three-family home and made the top five spot on our "bright ideas to borrow" list.
Here, a few other ideas for the not-so-chevron obsessed.

I LOOOVE painted floors and particularly love the bold stripes, but have a special love for the Skylar's Lace stencil as that is one of my designs that was created for Maryam of My Marrakesh for her daughter's floor and was stenciled on one of the painting retreats I lead to Morocco! How thrilling to see it here! :) http://bit.ly/xn8C8Y
Love it - especially the lace! And the chevrons match you blog:)
I love this. I found this because I was thinking of doing a chevron pattern in a guest room.
